The Middle East appears to be heading toward worse chaos in the coming months, as military operations and the targeting of civilians and infrastructure coincide in multiple parts of the region -notably in northern Syria and the Gaza Strip- and with the participation of all foreign powers operating militarily in the region.
The Consulting Office for MENA warns of the dangers of attempting to depopulate these areas. If such a step takes place, it will not bring peace to the region. On the contrary, it will serve as a trigger for increased tension, which will be used more flexibly by external powers and extremist organizations to fuel ongoing regional and international conflicts in the region.
Proposals to create a so-called "alternative homeland" or geographical alternatives for displaced peoples will be tools for igniting more violence and turmoil in the Middle East. Also, it will be used flexibly by external powers and extremist organizations to fuel region's ongoing regional and international conflicts.
In addition to, the insistence on labeling people's demands, grievances, and movements as terrorist contributes to the creation of a breeding ground for extremist organizations.
More violence, use of military force, armed mobilization, and external intervention will not solve the Middle East's problems. The desired stability begins with finding fair solutions to the region's peoples' grievances.
